In September, we started to communicate the features and
benefits of our new software release SolidCAM2007 R11.
We focused on the new High-Speed Machining (HSM) module, which
generates optimum roughing and finishing CNC toolpaths for the
High-Speed Machining of complex 3D shapes.
Our launch
activities included:
- Various training sessions for
our resellers
- Several trade shows in the United States
and Europe
- Launch days together with our resellers in
conjunction with the new release
SolidWorks2007
- Worldwide HSM workshops for customers and
prospects.
Up to now, the new version has been
demonstrated to more than 1,000 interested CAM users, among
them an increasing number of die- and moldmakers. We already
closed initial orders based on the enhanced functionality,
including both add-on orders as well as new seats. Until the
end of the year, we will continue our launch activites by
participating in important trade shows and offering more HSM
workshops. In parallel, we will further develop our support
capabilities by hiring additional manufacturing specialists.
Dear reader, if you are interested to participate in
one of our HSM Workshops, please do not hesitate to contact
your local SolidCAM reseller.

Woodmanufacturing
with SolidCAM+SolidWorks |
|
CNC technology is increasingly used to automate the
machining of wooden parts, where the work material can be
timber, plywood or laminate. These parts are not only demanded
by the furniture and construction industry, but also by the
interior designers of caravans and precious yachts.
SAHOS,
the Czech manufacturer of woodworking machines, demonstrated
last month on the MSV show in Brno new 5-axis machines for the
production of wooden parts and for the trimming of plastic
pressings or laminates. SAHOS has a longterm experience in
designing the parts with SolidWorks and machining them with
SolidCAM. SAHOS packages SolidWorks+SolidCAM together with the
machine tool center and sells it as a complete Woodworking
solution. In addition, design and machining of wooden parts is
also offered as a service for prospective customers.

CKD
Corporation shortens lead time with SolidCAM |
|
The Japanese CKD
Corporation manufactures complete production lines for
several industries, such as automatic packaging machines for
the medical industry or machines for lamp and bulb making.
These markets are so dynamic, that customers demand a
reduction of the lead times up to 50%. All sections of CKD are
constantly looking for ways to increase
productivity.
The machining section of the Automation
machinery department reduced the machining time as well as the
CNC program preparation time by the introduction of
state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and software. On one
hand, they replaced old CNC machines by intelligent high-
speed machine tool centers, on the other hand they replaced
different CAM systems by the combined "SolidCAM+SolidWorks"
solution. The implementation has been closely supported by
SolidCAM`s Japanese reseller TACTX. |
