We have just returned from the impressive SolidWorks World
conference and exhibition in New Orleans, where we
demonstrated our upcoming version SolidCAM2007 R11.1 in the
partner pavillion. The conversations and tight cooperation
with our endusers, resellers and the SolidWorks community
confirmed once again our leadership in the area of seamlessly
integrated CAM for SolidWorks.
The partner pavillion
included also a Showcase
of products designed with SolidWorks® 3D CAD software. More
than 150 items were shown, including running shoes, a hot
drink system, a racing dragster, a scale model of a nuclear
power assembly and an ice cream machine. We from SolidCAM are
proud to contribute to such processes, where we can provide
our manufacturing automation tools to convert the SolidWorks
3D files into real physical products.
Dear reader, we
will continue to work hard to maintain our leadership in
developping the best integrated CAM solution for SolidWorks
and hope that you enjoy our Newsletter.

Polish
Patternmaker succeeds with
SolidWorks+SolidCAM |
|
For more than 40 years, the Polish patternmaker Joszko
Modele manufactures conceptional models of all sizes. The
main material used is wood, but also cast resin and
polystyrene is machined. With the entrance of Poland in the
European community, Joszko Modele can successfully exploit new
business opportunities.
To become competitive with
Western European patternmakers, Joszko Modele invested heavily
in the newest manufacturing technology. In 2005, they
purchased the combined solution SolidWorks+SolidCAM in
conjunction with a 5 axis milling machine. The new automation
tools enable Joszko Modele to build functional models of large
size in a very short time. |

manufacture better products faster. Seamless Integration and
full associativity are key factors to streamline the entire
process.
Location: Novotel, Leeds City Centre
Date: Wednesday 21st February
Time: 2pm to 4m or 6pm to 8pm
The sessions will include a demonstration of 2D,
3D & assembly modelling, eDrawings, advanced surfacing
& tools, as well as focusing on the individual
requirements of the participants. We will also be showing the
latest CAM technology from SolidCAM, including 2.5D/3D
Milling, High Speed Machining, Simultaneous 5 Axis Machining,

High-Speed
Machining with SolidCAM |
|
The Desktop Engineering Magazine recently reviewed
SolidCAM`s capabilies in High Speed Machining. The author, Ann
Mazakas, stated "Clearly targeted for mold, tool and die,
aerospace, and other complex 3D milling applications, the HSM
module offers technology often found in high-end CAM systems
with something other systems can’t - direct integration with
SolidWorks."
The machining strategies in this new
module make it a compelling choice for users with advanced
machine tools as well as shops with older NC machines that are
looking to improve productivity with reduced air- cutting and
smoothing arcs that maintain continuous machine tool motion.
Shops with advanced machine tools, shops looking to implement
new technology, or shops with standard machine tools that want
to maximize their productivity will be pleased to see what
SolidCAM HSM can do for them.
