The focus of the presentation will be the new powerful module for High-Speed Machining (HSM) of complex 3D parts including molds, dies or aerospace components. The new module generates first-class toolpaths for High-Speed Cutting machines and thus contributes to faster lead and production times, lower costs and improved quality in the toolshop. In addition, SolidCAM will demonstrate new functions for 2.5D Milling, including a new Thread Milling operation and powerful new functionality for the automatic feature recognition and machining of 2.5D pockets in Prismatic Parts. Also, important enhancements of the automatic feature recognition and machining of holes, including the support for tapping and reaming, will be shown. Responding especially to the demands of Die & Mold customers, SolidCAM has added further enhancements to the WireEDM module. The User documentation and toolsheet output in R11 is now based on XML-format and is fully customizable. All SolidCAM functions are seam-lessly integrated into the 3D CAD mainstream system SolidWorks. The single-window user interface and the full associativity between the CAD model and NC toolpath guarantees a short learning curve and an efficient flow from the 3D design model to the machined part.
