Running Snail Racing Team - Jedes Jahr ein neuer Rennwagen!

Anwenderbericht über die Realisierung von Einzelkomponenten einer Vollcarbonfelge mithilfe von InventorCAM und anschließender Maschinensimulation in VERICUT

Das Running Snail Racing Team ist ein Projekt der OTH Amberg-Weiden, in dem sich Studierende aller Fachrichtungen der Hochschule engagieren. Die Aufgabenbereiche der Mitglieder erstrecken sich von der technischen Entwicklung und dem Bau des Rennwagens über Marketing und Organisation bis hin zu Grafik und Design.
In 2004 gegründet, nimmt das Team jedes Jahr mit einem neu entwickelten, regelkonformen Formel-Rennwagen an Wettbewerben des interntionalen Konstruktionswettbewerbs, der Formula Student, teil und gibt das neu hinzugewonnene Wissen an die nachfolgenden Studierenden weiter.


In seinem Anwenderbericht vom 26.06.2019 erläutert Florian Rosner die Realisierung von Einezlkomponenten einer Vollcarbonfelge mithilfe von InventorCAM und anschließender Maschinensimulation in VERICUT:


"Im Rahmen einer Projektarbeit wurde im WS 2018/19 eine Carbonfelge für einen Rennwagen der Formula Student entwickelt und konstruiert. Die Formula Student ist ein internationaler Konstruktionswettbewerb, in dem über 5000 Studenten mit ihren Rennwägen gegeneinander antreten in verschiedensten Disziplinen. In diesem Fall wurde die Felge für das Running Snail Racingteam der OTH Amberg-Weiden entwickelt, dass sich aktuell auf dem 2. Platz der Weltrangliste der Formula Student Electric befindet.

Um die ungefederten Massen möglichst gering zu halten und die Kraft bestmöglichst auf die Straße zu bringen wurden erstmals einteilige Carbonfelgen entwickelt. Da es sich bei diesem Bauteil um ein hochbelastetes Teil im Fahrwerk handelt, wurde viel Know-how und die Entwicklung dieser gesteckt und somit ergaben sich einige komplexe Bauteile, die einen großen Fertigungsaufwand benötigen.

Da kein Sponsor diese Fertigungsleistung übernahm, wurden die Teile in der Hochschule selbst im Labor für Werkzeugmaschinen B84 mit dem 5-Achs Bearbeitungszentrum Grob G350 gefertigt. Als CAM-Software diente InventorCAM. Um die komplexen Verfahrwege nachvollziehen zu können und um die Problematik eines Crashs zu umgehen, wurden die NC-Programme in VERICUT anschließend simuliert..."
