Subject: new iMachining success story at SolidCAM customer - reduce from 90 min to 8 min only!!!

I was at a customer who is using SolidCAM since 10 years - I called him last week and told him about iMachining.
Immediately he invited me to cut a part from a very difficult material.
The material is used in devices to inspect exhaust systems from cars.The material is heat resistant up to 1000 degrees. There is 20% chrome inside and this is the major problem.
Material name is 1.4828 or X15CrNiSi20-12 or 309 or S30900.
The operation that has to remove the most material was done till now with HSM and a fly cutter and it took 90 min.
We used a 16mm end mill from WNT - it is called MonsterMill with 5 flutes .
The cutting depth was 30.9 mm and we finished this job in only 8 min.( we start with iMachining level 3 and went up to iMachining level 6).
But I think we could go faster and the customer was very impressed.
We did many jobs with this tool and after we finished this part, you see nearly no wear in the tool.
The machine was a Kunzmann, with Heidenhain 530 controller.
