Hello Together,

I have also a nice story about iMachining.

This week I had a HSM training in a college with 8 teachers.

On the last day I show iMachining.

They were quite impressed and asked if we can cut a part on their machine.

The machine is a Spinner U620 with Heidenhain controller. 12000 RPM - 40000 Feed - 14 KW

I showed them the part from the exhibition EMO in Hannover and asked if they had a blank of steel ( normally they mill only aluminum)

Ok they had a blank of 1.2312 (40CrMnMoS8-6).

I modify the part from the EMO and make 6 iMachining jobs.

The tool was a 16mm endmill and a 6mm endmill - both material was carbide 16mm with 6 flutes and the 6mm with 4 flutes.

I use level 6 with turbo mode - cutting depth 26mm and 8mm.

Machining time: 5min 16sec. We mill the part without any cooling.


The reaction from the teachers was : We have never seen something like that!
