Troubleshooting SolidCAM Embedded installation problems

To troubleshoot problems related to installation of SolidCAM embedded, follow these steps:
 

  1. Restart the computer
  2. Make sure you are installing with a user that has admin rights
  3. Make sure that your windows temporary files folder is empty
  4. Disable any anti-virus or anti-spyware programs currently in use
  5. Make sure Windows is up to date (The installation can fail because update are missing of if the computer is in the middle of a windows update)
  6. Validate that Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.0 and 4.1 are installed on the computer:
  7. If installation still fails, please uninstall the following:

All Microsoft redistributable packages
Visual Studio 2005 Run-Time support
Visual Studio 2008 Run-Time support
Visual Studio 2010 Run-Time support
.NET Framework
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Applications

If you are still not able to install, please send us the log file (SolidCAMCAD2013instlogfile.txt) that is located in the installation folder.

(Example: C:\Program Files\SolidCAM2013\(SolidCAMCAD2013instlogfile.txt)
