Exciting visit to SolidCAM's important veteran customer RUDISCHHAUSER Surgical Instruments Manufacturing GmbH, in Tuttlingen, Germany. RUDISCHHAUSER manufactures Surgical Instruments & Implants and is managed by Steffen Rudischhauser, whose grandfather started the company in the fifties. SolidCAM has about 200 customers, out of its total 5000 customers in Germany, in this famous Tuttlingen area for medical parts manufacturing.

RUDISCHHAUSER has 12 SolidCAM seats, 7 STAR Swiss machines, and other CNCs, including Hermle, HAAS, and Hanwa, to manufacture their complex small medical parts.

Joining for the visit were Joerg Vollmann-Schipper, SolidCAM Additive Manager, and Guersel Demircali, Desktop Metal VP EMEA Sales Channel, to continue the activities for devising the best manufacturing process that introduces Additive manufacturing to RUDISCHHAUSER, to save costs in the manufacturing of his medical parts.

A forceps part of RUDISCHHAUSER has been 3D printed in Stainless steel 17-4PH, with the Desktop Metal Shop system, at the SolidCAM GmbH technology center, then CNC machined to get the required surface finish.

Today SolidCAM offers the leading innovative technological process, that combines 3D Metal printing with CNC finishing, for its 20,000 Manufacturing customers worldwide.
