Subject: iMachining 2D + 3D Test cutting saves 72% cycle time

Hello Emil,

Today Enrico an I done a test cutting at Suhler Gesenkschmiede und Bearbeitungswerk GmbH (<link http: suhler-gesenkschmiede.de external-link-new-window external link in new>suhler-gesenkschmiede.de)

They are milling dies for their own drop-forges.

They are actually using SolidWorks 2010 and SolidCAM 2009 with the old 3D-module.

We’ve milled a part they gave us with iMachining 2D and 3D (see attached files).

It was a big success for us!

Material: 1.2714 (55NiCrMoV7) hardened up to 1700 N/mm²  or rather 50-52 HRC

Tool:  Diameter 16 Bullnose with R2, 4 flute, helical angle 52° from Jongen Werkzeugtechnik

Time before: 54 minutes for roughing

Time with iMachining:  15 minutes for roughing

(Level 8 with Material Database from Bekir)

Time saved: 72%

The tool looked nearly like new after about 2 hours of roughing!

Now they like to update their system to iMachining 2D and 3D,  and also HSR and HSM in the next few days.
