Subject: Cooperation with Okuma Australia using iMachining- Machine Reseller connections are so important!!!

Hi Emil,

Here's a story we wanted to share:

Okuma called us asking for some help in setting up a demonstration for one of their prospects.

They wanted to demonstrate to an existing customer how they can use High Speed Machining to justify the purchase of a new machine.

The only problem - we had an hour to setup and prove the demonstration (by the time we got to the machine)!!

They presented us with a random billet of steel and only 1 end mill which could not plunge.

We modeled a suitable part in SolidWorks to suit the billet dimensions, produced some 2D iMachining toolpaths, and ran the first test.

We were not 100% happy with the cutting, as we realised we could re-order some operations, and increase the level because the cutting looked way too easy, but the Okuma guys were already very impressed and due to the lack of time they would not let us run another improved toolpath!

The result from a simple 1 hours work - Okuma sold an MB-56VA after the customer saw the iMachining demonstration, and we have a new prospect (who was another CAM software till now)!

The video of the cutting is on Youtube: <link http: www.youtube.com _blank>www.youtube.com/watch
