SolidCAM’s Joint CAM Workshop with Heidenhain company, at Traunreut, Germany

A very special workshop was organized by Heidenhain and SolidCAM GmbH, on 6 June, 2013.

Heidenhain GmbH develops and manufactures numerical controls for demanding positioning tasks. The workshop's emphasis was the perfect match between SolidCAM and Heidenhain controllers.

SolidCAM presented before a large number of participants, the revolutionary and patented -  iMachining. The Heidenhain team explained how iMachining can shorten your cycle times significantly (by 70% and more)

The participants were able to see then for themselves, iMachining live in action:

  • On a DMU 60evo with a iTNC 530 control, a part of stainless steel (X8CrNiS18-9).  
  • On a Hermle C42 MT with a TNC 640 control, a part of hardened steel (16MnCr5).


The highlight of the day was to see iMachining cutting much quicker through the material V4A (1.4572), while the tools lasted 3 times longer! Once again, iMachining amazed with its incredible time savings and significant increase in tool life.

All participants summed up the event with the same conclusion: such a workshop should be shown to as many people as possible so that they can also be exposed to the unbelievable benefits of SolidCAM and iMachining.
